VISCOM ITALIA 2021 LIVE+DIGITAL A SUCCESSFUL RESTART

Milan, 6th of October 2021 - The 2021 edition opened with the optimism of the entire visual community and ended on a note of great enthusiasm and success. Viscom Italia - took place in hybrid format from the 30th of September until the 2nd of October in halls 8/12 at fieramilano, carrying on digitally until the 5th of October - once again reaffirmed the fundamental role it plays within the sector: undisputedly, the appointment not to be missed. This year, companies from all over the visual communication world renewed their marked esteem, acknowledging the event's impressive added value: its ability to offer them an indispensable marketing tool and a unique business and communication opportunity.

The fair’s success is linked to the possibility, once again to touch products, evaluate manufacturers' skills, perceive which way the market is moving and the emerging innovations, networking, acquire specific knowledge and conduct business. The edition's numbers all back this up: 240,000 platform page visits, 250 brands on display, more than 10,000 digital visitors, as well as 9,043 in-person professionals from Italy and Switzerland, France, Germany, Croatia and Spain.

An explosion of products providing added value, as it gave the opportunity - starting with the products and applications on show - to discover new opportunities in the following sectors: Large Format Digital Printing – Sign –Sign Making - Screen Printing - Pad Printing - Textile Promotion - Embroidery - Engraving - Milling - Laser - Sports Awards - Digital Communication - Packaging - Labelling - Visual Merchandising - Services for Communication Events.

"Our exhibitors’ participation, commitment and investment, strong visitor attendance, collaboration with associations and the media - who gave a ringing endorsement of Viscom Italia - gave us the confirmation of our event’s leadership in this new hybrid appointment. The decision to set up Viscom Italia in live and digital formats is an absolute novelty for our event, making it possible to satisfy all our customers’ needs" - states Cecilia Montalbetti, Exhibition Manager Viscom Italia.

Among the various "ethically-minded" initiatives dedicated to sustainability, Viscom Italia launched the "Together against hunger" project in support of Banco Alimentare della Lombardia. Throughout the in-person gathering, at the restaurants inside halls 8/12, the "Together against hunger" initiative warmly invited exhibitors and visitors to buy a sandwich and/or a lunch-box. Thus donating 1 euro to Banco Alimentare della Lombardia, which went towards the distribution of food for 19 meals to needy families and people in Milan via its partner charities.

Sempre sul tema della sostenibilità è stato realizzato il SUSTAINABLE VISCOM, un percorso innovativo in cui le aziende partecipanti hanno presentato tecnologie e applicazioni sostenibili ma anche un’opportunità, per promuovere tutte quelle imprese che si stanno approcciando a questo nuovo modello di comunicazione. Hanno aderito al progetto: ABS GROUP, CIEFFE FILATI, DPI ITALIA, EMBROIDERY SERVICE, EPSON ITALIA, EURODISPLAY DESIGN IN PROGRESS, IMBALLAGGI PROTETTIVI, LIYU ITALIA, MONTECOLINO, MONTI ANOTONIO, NGW GROUP, TRODAT ITALIA, T-SHIRT MAKERS, ZAMPOURIS.

Sticking with the sustainability theme, the SUSTAINABLE VISCOM project was also implemented with success. An innovative path, in which participating companies presented sustainable technologies and applications. It also gave them an opportunity to promote all the companies that are embracing this new model of communication. The following companies took part in the project: ABS GROUP, CIEFFE FILATI, DPI ITALIA, EMBROIDERY SERVICE, EPSON ITALIA, EURODISPLAY DESIGN IN PROGRESS, IMBALLAGGI PROTETTIVI, LIYU ITALIA, MONTECOLINO, MONTI ANOTONIO, NGW GROUP, TRODAT ITALIA, T-SHIRT MAKERS, ZAMPOURIS.

The sheer number of participants, confirmed the importance of the annual Viscom Talks seminars; a venue for training, sharing information and getting market updates. 13 seminars, with more than 40 speakers, followed by 520 in-person and digital participants. Five days full of meetings, where entrepreneurs, top managers, communicators and innovators tackled various areas of sustainability applied to architecture, design, fashion, packaging and retail. Advertising, interior decoration, digital languages and advertising, nudges for design projects, sound design and new ideas for prototyping a new professional future also got touched on. Recordings of the talks will be available on the event website.

Creativity, technique, innovation and design were the true stars of Elementaria - the event organised in collaboration with Display Italia magazine - which showcased 13 prototypes. The exhibition entitled I.T.E.M. (Totemic Ecological Material Identities) presented display solutions aimed at the world of consumer electronics, cosmetics and fashion accessories. Internationally renowned designers and artists joined forces with raw material manufacturing companies to propose display projects designed to set future trends for the retail and brand industry. The participating raw material companies were: ADVIPLAST, APA GROUP, GEPLAST COMMUNICATION, FARAONI, CICERI DE MONDEL IMBALLAGGI PROTETTIVI, MADREPERLA, MATERICS GLASS, PLASTING, TONCART. The manufacturing companies were: ACRYLWAY, DIAM, FARAONI, FRONTERETRO, GIOVANARDI, LITOART, SARNO DISPLAY, TROCART, VISMARA ATTILIO, WOOD LINE. Matter Gallery: MONTECOLINO, POLYEDRA.

Prizes were handed out to the winners of the DIVA, Display Italia Viscom Award, the international competition organised in collaboration with Display Italia with the patronage of Comieco. 29 point-of-sale display solutions competed it out and the winners were nominated by the jury members: Cristiana Sormani, Bayer, Emanuela Marmiroli, Sony, Alessandro Recalcati, Würth, Sara Appiani, L’Orèal, Michele Preziosa, Laboratorio della Farmacia, Giulia Castelli, Aldo Coppola and Federica Brumen, Comieco.
